Title: Workers’ Compensation Attorney – New York

Location: Fully Remote (United States), available to work Eastern Time (EST) hours.

Employment Type: Contract (3-5+ months)

\n

Pay Rate: Between $120-$132/hour

\n

\n

A leading national healthcare and benefits organization is seeking an experienced New York Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join its legal team on a fully remote contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a New York-admitted attorney with defense-side workers’ compensation experience who is comfortable handling hearings, depositions, and related litigation matters.

The Workers’ Compensation Attorney will be responsible for handling New York workers’ compensation matters, including appearances before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, hearings, depositions, and other legal tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle workers’ compensation hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
  • \n
  • Conduct and/or participate in depositions related to workers’ compensation matters.
  • \n
  • Manage assigned workers’ compensation cases and related legal responsibilities.
  • \n
  • Prepare for hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.
  • \n
  • Conduct legal research and analysis as needed.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with internal legal, claims, and business teams.
  • \n
  • Complete additional legal assignments and case-related tasks as needed.
  • \n

Qualifications:

  • Admission to practice law in New York State is required.
  • \n
  • 3–5+ years of workers’ compensation experience preferred.
  • \n
  • Experience handling New York workers’ compensation hearings and depositions.
  • \n
  • Defense-side workers’ compensation experience required; candidates may come from a carrier, insurance organization, staff counsel environment, or private law firm.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of New York workers’ compensation laws, procedures, and Board practices.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to independently manage matters and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • \n
